Since my excursion to Wally-World this morning and interesting development has occurred.  I’m collecting garbage from all the rooms using the plastic bags that the groceries came in and I pass by my sons room.  He’s playing with his Thomas the Tank Engine set, and he looks up and sees me pass by and calls out after me, “Save money, Live better…Wal-Mart!”  Now every time my son sees a Wal-Mart bag he proudly proclaims the store’s catchphrase.  I’m starting to think they have subliminal messaging in that store.  Has my son been brainwashed?  I’m starting to think that maybe intervention should be considered.

These folks reeeeeeally did some research when it came to who they are voting for Nov 4th.  The below clip is from the Howard Stern show, of which I do not listen or support, but regardless I thought it is pretty telling of just how uninformed people are about the issues and that they are voting based on emotion – Not a good reason to vote people.

Listen and enjoy.

I’m in Wal-Mart this morning and my two year old son voices his unintelligible dissent about being there.  After making him repeat his statement three or four time, it dawns on me what this sweet little child has just said…”No save money, live better, Wal-mart!”  What that translates to is, “I don’t want to go into Wal-Mart!”

Now how is it that a two year old that can barely read the word “cow” can read the Wal-Mart slogan written everywhere?  In my puzzled state I heard something over my head, it’s the TV monitor with a what else but Wal-Mart commercial running and I discover that he didn’t read it, he heard it from the TV.

I’m no conspiracy theory freak, but I’m beginning to think that Wal-Mart’s bid for world domination is starting by indoctrinating our children.  Get them believing at a very young age that they can live better via shopping at this store and ergo be happier, healthier people for having done so.  Okay, this is all merely jest, but seriously, my son speaks pretty well for a two year old and when one of the lengthier string of words he is able to articulate is Wal-Mart’s slogan, you know somethings wrong.

Either they truly are taking over the world or I’m spending entirely to much time in that blasted place.

This nation has been overtaken by reality tv to the extent that even our presidential elections have become an “idol” search.  I cede to the fact that persona has always had somewhat of an effect with our elections, but to this extent I’ve never seen the like.

Obama is really a star.  He’s not presidential material, but he’s definitely a star.  And this is why I’m concerned.  Barak is like the guy who sings like no body’s business but lacks discipline and won’t listen to good advice because he knows what he’s doing.  He’s a little too cocky because he knows he sounds good which always leads to trouble and ultimately a stint in rehab for one thing or another.  McCain’s the guy who’s been around for a while, sings well enough but has the staying power it takes to make it in the business.  He sees himself fortunate enough to been in the business as long as he has so he truly loves doing what he does.

Do we want a flash in the pan or someone who knows the ropes and will stick around?

I guess Colin Powell’s endorsement was Obama’s equivalent of getting a compliment out of Simon Cowell.

Hmmm… maybe Ryan Seacrest can M.C. on Nov 4th and let us know how many votes Obama and McCain received and crown our new “idol”.

I am really not understanding this.  After watching the debate last night, which by the way McCain really blew so many opportunities, I am convinced that Obama just may be the “Anti Christ”.  I really don’t believe this mind you, it’s just amazing that after it has been proven and verified that he was (and is) in the tank with ACORN, the whole Ayers connection, the obvious desire to completely socialize America via bigger government and wealth redistribution, and other seriously radical and shady ties, this guy comes out smelling like a rose.  It’s unbelievable that so many people have allowed his super-smooth demeanor and ambiguous, vapid speeches to over shadow the fact that he has no real experience in running anything but his mouth.  Three terms as a state representative, and less than two years of what is supposed to be a six year term in the senate somehow, to me anyway, is not selling me on his experience.  Yeah, I know he was a community organizer, but to me that’s really the equivalent of say…being a member of the mafia – no disrespect.   Community organizers just strong arm the local leaders so they get their pet projects underway.  If you ask me they are the reason for the sub-prime mess in the first place, but that’s another blog.

Last night the issues of taxes/wealth-redistribution, ACORN, Ayers, CSI, Saul Alinsky came up and time after time Obama successfully wormed his way out of further explanation.  How can this be?  He has admitted he paid ACORN via CSI when he recently amended his spending report.  He simply dismissed this as nonsense and desperation by republicans and no one in the MSM dare bring it up.  It’s only the bloggers and conservative talk radio that seem to do any digging, but regardless of what they find, he just says “No, not true,”, gives that deceptively innocent grin, and the public eats it up.  It’s as though they seem to say, regardless of the verified truth, we’ll just take his word for it that it’s not.  Some how he has cast a spell on America and what appears to be the majority have had their minds taken over and had their common sense detectors jammed… it’s like the invasion of the body snatchers!

WAKE UP!  The man is dirtier that a week old pair of soiled undies!

I mean I thought that the 2004 election was ridiculous, but this blind faith in someone who has absolutely no proven track recorded other than radical idealogy bases on communist theory, extremely poor judgement in whom he aligns himself with, and tax increases has me perplexed.  We can not elect someone simply because he says “Change” and “Hope”.  Make him prove that he is capable of both first and then if he can, put him in the highest office of the land.   Seriously, don’t let “Bush hatred” cloud sound judgement.

I’m not a heavily political person, and I didn’t think my first post would be about politics but when election season rolls around I get pretty heated up.  I’m not new to politics, but you know how after having read/heard the same thing over and over again you get numb…and then there’s something that comes out and slaps you in the face.  I was reading some political news articles and ran across one that absolutely enraged me, not that it was new or more in depth than other reads, it was just the wake up call.

Okay, we all know (or at least some of us do) that ACORN has really questionable tactics at best, but they have really taken the cake with this election.  IBD Editorials had an article about the recent crack downs on ACORN facilities in Nevada and North Carolina and I got to thinking; I really hope that the American people aren’t getting the wool pulled over their eyes.  I became pretty aggravated to say the least.

We know for a fact that the FBI is investigating ACORN for fraudulent practices concerning voter registration across the country and had sought and won convictions in the voter fraud investigations they have had brought to court so far .  When the higher ups at ACORN are asked about the practices their unprincipled lay people employ, the folks running the show claim little to no responsibility for what the field workers do and say they don’t have the time it takes to maintain voter accuracy.  They respond with statements to the effect that we are registering too many people to verify that they are who they say they are.  Well, I say to the people at ACORN; if you can’t validate/verify them, DON’T REGISTER THEM!  Apparently quantity is more important to ACORN than quality.

ACORN has also remarked that registration boards and polling places will have to sort it out the days prior to or on election day via validation letters and ID checks at the polling locations.  The problem with that is these validation letters go largely unanswered, less than one percent reply according to the IDB Editorials article.  If they are to be validated at the polling location on election day it will back up the lines and may very well discourage some from even voting due to the amount of waiting time.  Some states don’t even require ID to be shown so how to you verify that those people are even able to vote in that location.  How are we supposed to keep this election honest?

When doing a little research it seems ACORN hires the bottom of the barrel.  They hire (or round up) people that have no scruples or sense of moral right and wrong to do the dirty work.  I realize that there are people that do work for ACORN at the entry level that believe in what they are doing and do an honest job of registering voters, but in looking at the organization’s history it appears to be corrupt to it’s very core, and voter fraud has been proven to be very closely linked to this organization.  It would seem that ACORN is willing to do whatever it takes to get in their candidate of choice, and we give them our hard-earned tax payers dollars to do it!

I also find it extremely unnerving that ACORN was on Obama’s payroll via Citizen Services Inc., who is associated with/to ACORN (it’s an ACORN off-shoot) and another radical group called Communities Voting Together.  The FEC is looking at this one since a whistle blower pointed out the links and that it was being used to “launder” campaign monies.  I know that the Obama camp has altered it’s spending report to now say that yes, indeed ACORN was the group that received the monies, but why did you have to amend the report in the first place?  I mean, come on…you knew who you paid and why.

Folks, we need to wake up and smell the coffee!  This election is going down the tube not because one candidate is far more like-able and seems more qualified better our country, it’s because there is so much stinking cheating going on it’s not even funny.  If you can’t get your guy into office…PICK A BETTER ONE!  Don’t cheat the get the sorry one in.  I don’t care for Obama’s politics, that’s pretty evident but this has little to do with Obama.  This is about tampering with the outcome of an election.  You tamper with a jury and you get jail time, and it should be so in this case.  I don’t wear the proverbial Republican “jersey” and I’m not McCain’s biggest fan ( I personally voted for someone else in the primaries) and I will call out a candidate regardless of afiliation, so this is not a partisian issue.

Our country is entirely too important to play games with and I think everyone of us with an ounce of moral character ought to be livid about people, groups, etc, trying to “fix” elections.  Look, this is an extremely important election, I believe they all are really, and it’s up to the American people to put our feet down and scream from the rooftops to let folks know that cheating will not be tolerated at any level.

I know that ol’ Peggy what’s-her-face is old news, but her belief that somehow with Obama taking office she can stop worrying about how her bills are going to get paid is extremely disturbing.  Somehow it says to me that “hey I can slack off now because this guy’s gunna get others to do my work while I stand back and take a load off.”  When I first heard/saw this lady make this statement, I was dumbfounded.

I was floored, and enraged.  I don’t know if she literally meant that she didn’t have to worry about making her car payment or mortgage anymore but the whole hand-out mentality it why America is in the mess it is in the first place.

Did this woman have a personal meeting with Obama himself in which he said “Peggy, I promise that if I win that you, Peggy, can stop worrying about how your debt’s will be paid because I’ll personally take care of them myself.”  If Obama made her that promise personally, I can see why she’d say such a thing, but if he didn’t, which I’m willing bet bet… it is frightening.

To me, her statement speaks of a bigger problem.  There are millions more out there thinking just like her, thinking that now I can slack off because I have someone in the Oval office that’s going to take care of me.  The 700+ billion dollar bail out was because of people like this.  The 85 billion dollar AIG bailout was because of thinking like this.  The additional millions in funds given to banks just so that they would lend to businesses and legitimate borrowers again is due to people behaving like this.

People need to fend for themselves and stop looking to the government to bail them out.  Welfare is needed in some cases but I’ll betcha dollar to donut that 90 percent of who receives welfare could go out and get a decent paying job, with benefits, that doesn’t require anything but that you graduated high school or received a GED.  I can say this because my former employer, which is a telecommunications company, hires people left and right.  They pay a very decent wage to start and offer benefits to those they employ and all they require is that you be sober, eighteen years of age, and have a GED or high school diploma.  So don’t tell me there aren’t any good paying jobs out there that are easy to get and provide a decent living for families.

Here’s where we have the problem, lazy folks like this don’t want that, they want what Peggy wants, something for nothing.  Forget all those who work their backsides off to provide for their families, they can afford to pay more in taxes to keep Peggy up and those like her.  Forget having work ethic and having a sense of pride in having worked hard for what you have, regardless of how much or little it is.  Nevermind bringing up children to believe that they should work hard and strive, no let’s teach them that if your lazy enough, you too can be taken care of by the government.

This post doesn’t have any stats or quotes from learned sources, this is all just heart-felt disgust that America has become the land of the relatively free and the home of the hand-out.

I was checking out the temp this morning and I see my homepage (MSN) had a post from the site “The Root”.  I see their stuff out there from time to time and sometimes I check it out and I wanted to see what their thoughts on today’s events were.  Anyway, I’m reading along and it’s extolling the historicness (if that’s even a word) of this election and then I get to 4th paragraph. The writer says that if McCain somehow pulls this out, “…it will set off a heated debate about race in America.”  I begin thinking, why?  Why is it still an us against them issue?

To preface, yes I am white.  I have not lived in the other party’s shoes.  I do however know what it’s like to be denied something because I was not the correct ethnicity or there are too many “whites” enrolled in the program so better luck next time.  These do not compare to what many older blacks went through, but it’s still being judged or accepted based on skin color.

While no one group is one hundred percent faultless or, at fault for the racial tensions that still loom over our society today, in my opinion the majority of the behaviors or speech that black people perceive as tinged with racism are mostly imagined.  Now I said mostly, there are pockets of wacko’s out there that are racist, but it’s not the norm.  Some white folks may lack social graces when it comes to dealing with people from other ethnic backgrounds, but we are not all a bunch of racists.

I have been around on many an occasion when something was said and set off a firestorm, knowing that how it was taken was not how it was meant or expressed.  I have also been with groups of friends (mixed, with me being the only white person) when somehow the lines got read between.  Things like, “I know what they said but they meant this” or “did you see how he/she reacted when I/we did this?”  I’m sitting there thinking, where did you get this from?  I, in no way, shape, or form would have taken anything thing these people did/said any differently than the face value.

Look, this country has a long and sorted history between blacks and whites but it’s time to stop it and get it worked out.  Both races need to be open and honest, and stop acting like they’ve been done wrong because chances are the other party has no clue and didn’t mean what you thought.

Example:  I’m a 5’2″ woman, and say I’m coming out of the mall after closing and I see two large young men approaching me in a otherwise empty parking lot.  If the two are black, I tense up and become alert and start looking to make a lot of distance between us.  If the two are white, I tense up and become alert and start looking to make a lot of distance between us.  If it’s a black guy and white guy, I tense up…you see the pattern.  Here’s the difference in the scenario’s, if I behave like I’m frightened and the pair was black, in their minds they automatically think it’s due to their color.  If it’s the white group and I behave like this, they either don’t pay attention or they chalk it up to the fact I’m a little woman all by herself, which is actually the case.

I think it’s time for white people to get over this imposed guilt complex they have over something they didn’t do and had no part of.  If you are guilty, then apologize and stop behaving like an idiot.  I think the black community needs to get over the color issue, stop isolating themselves and see themselves not as blacks but the way God see us all, as humans-first and foremost.

We all need to quit focusing on the past because if we stay in it we get drug back into it.  The wrongs of the past can never be made right, but we can all work to make the future free of racial divides and live together as people and not people of a particular color.

Our colors and cultures make us unique, but they should neverkeep us separate.  We need each other.

I am amazed.  The Associated Press dared to take on “The One’s” infomercial and make him look less than holy?  What’s this?  A break in the ranks?  There are a couple of reasons this may have happened, let’s explore.

Reason #1:  They are trying to redeem themselves in the public’s eyes after the Pew report came out with their latest finding.  You know, the one that said that Obama received far more favorable coverage than McCain…DUH!

Reason #2:  They finally got someone in the place that had some intestinal fortitude and decided to actually hold Obama accountable for the half-truths (or whole untruths), and extremely vague explanations of his plans for our future.

Reason #3:  Now this is the part where the conspiracy theorist in me come out, she doesn’t see the light of day often but when she does…it gets pretty interesting.  Okaaaay, here goes.  I think that the heads over at the DNC never intended to let Wacky Barak win this one in the first place.  This was supposed to be Hillary’s shot at the white house.  I really think they thought they had it in the bag for ol’ HRC but Obama pulled a fast one.  He used his Chicago style politics, some say it’s the dirtiest around, and pulled this one out of his hat.  They also didn’t know he had ACORN in his pocket.

I think they wanted it to be close between Hillary and Obama, to keep the minority constiuentcy satisfied and therefore insuring their vote for the Democratic nominee whoever she was.  I am NOT implying that every democrat is racist, but if you look back in history the party as a whole does not have the best track record when it comes to race relations.  (Some would say Republicans don’t either, but that’s for another time.)

From the time that people of color were allowed to run for public office they ran almost soley as Republicans.  Until 1939, you will be very hard pressed to find a state rep, US House Rep, or senator that was black and Democrat, because it just didn’t happen.  It was only the last half of the 20th century that African-Americans switched party affiliations and that is another long history lesson for a later post.

(My take is that in 2004 they saw some of the minority votes slipping and need to bring them back. Personally I believe they take the minority vote for granted  They try to keep minorities dependent on the government and therefore continuing to look to the Dem’s because Democrats are for giving handouts not hand-up’s.  Again I don’t believe the everyday Democrat thinks like this but from what I’ve observed, the people in the upper eschelons of the party sure do.  I could go on and on, but I’m not trying to write a post that will racially divide, that’s not my intent.)

I know this sounds far fetched, but stick with me.  Alright, I think that the DNC was upset that they’d been had and at the last minute are going to hang Obama out to dry.  I’m not sure how or if they even will. They may just leave him alone and see if he wins.  On the other hand if you start to see that the media begins to turn on him or unflattering material is leaked/released, I wouldn’t think it too preposterous to say that the DNC may have had something to do with it.  Hey, if I’m wrong, I’m wrong.

I was just reading about Sean Putz, uh I mean, Penn’s new film “Milk”.  Come to find out that it’s about the homosexual San Fransisco politician Harvey Milk, that was assassinated in 1978.  Okay, disturbingly enough this is not really a surprise coming from Penn and Hollywood but here’s the gist;  they are not going to market it as a homosexual romance flick which it very much is, and those who have not looked past the few commercials it will have out will not know otherwise.  If you don’t do your research, you’ll think it’s a political film rather than the gay love story it was made to be.

That’s pretty low-down if you ask me.  Don’t get me wrong there is some political stuff in there, like there were sheep in “Brokeback Mountain”, so the divert isn’t a total farce, but it is sorely misleading and bound to get viewers that would have never had interest in it otherwise.  I know most of these people are adults and can make up their minds for themselves, but the use of duplicity to otherwise get these viewers suggests that there is something wrong with the content.

Look, if you want to be a homosexual, that’s your business, but don’t try to con people into accepting the life style.  The article said that a couple tried to get up and leave, but were blocked in by other viewers seated watching the movie, not by force, just a desire to be courteous and not make a scene I guess.  The article went on to explain the decision to stay and finish the film by quoting the couple saying, “they were glad they stayed” and I’m sure more enlightened for having done so.

Luring in the unsuspecting public to further a homosexual agenda is deviant.  If you have to trick, convince, and cajole to get you desires accepted, chances are there’s something wrong with the desire.  I guess this is how it works though.  The homosexual agenda has had much more success with slow, incremental exposure rather than with militant “in your face” tactics and therefore lulled the hapless general masses into complacency and relative acceptance .

“After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90′s” is an instruction manual written by two gay men on how to make homosexuality as normal to John Q. Public as a getting up every morning.  It’s interesting to see that these tactics have been employed, and have worked.  They have done this in the ”mainline” denominational churches via strategic placement of “gay friendly” lower level clergy and now there are quite a few prominent and openly homosexual individuals leading these churches and the congregations didn’t even see it coming.

Schools sneak it in with so-called children’s books about two male penguins and their chick, aimed at the public’s five year olds.  Frankly this is not a time in which children need to learn about sexuality or sexual “preferences”, they just need to be children. Other books, such as “The Two Princes” target elementary aged children who again, need to be more interested in when the next game of dodge ball or four-square is going to get underway, not driving home that little Jimmy had two dad’s and it’s “okay”.  These are just some of the ways the public is indoctrinated and the younger the better.

Here’s the point, not leveling with people and camouflaging a propaganda film to further the homosexual agenda is reprehensible.  People should be told up front what they are in for and not left in the lurch.  I for one would be incensed and might just show my tail to the management, and anyone who’d listen, if I went to a film thinking it is one thing and finding out, after I paid money and had my decency offended, that it was something altogether different and nothing I agreed with morally.

I am not a homophobe and I don’t in any way, shape, or form hate homosexuals.  I do not condone anyone being physically or emotionally harmed for being who they are.  I do not demand they come around to my way of thinking (which is biblically based) though I hope and pray they do.  I will not, however, tolerate them shoving their agenda down my throat anymore than they would tolerate my beating them about the head with the Bible and telling them what they believe is wrong.

Here’s the link to the article on which this rant is based:

Wow, did Newsweek ever stir up a hornets nest with their new article about Catholics backing Obama despite his pro choice stance.  That comment board is on FIRE!  I can’t believe some of the tripe I’ve been reading.  Catholics going at each other, some Christians are in the mix, and ah yes… the ever-present femi-nazis and their minions.

Whether to back or not to back Obama based soley on this single issue, the abortion issue, really requires one to be in the footsteps, if it were possible, of the unborn baby who’s life hangs in the balance.  Since that’s rarely possible, I’ll share my thoughts about how abortion nearly shaped my family.

I learned from my mother some time ago that had Roe v. Wade been made legal prior to her becoming pregnant with my younger sister, she would probably aborted her.  My sister was born in July of ’73.  I was shocked and after I picked my lower jaw off the floor, I asked her why she would have ever considered such an option.  She was scared, she had a three year old, I was barely 4 months old and then she discovered she had become pregnant again.

I thought about this for days after the fact and thought about what my life would have been like had I not had my younger sister around.  We moved around a lot due to my dad’s line of work and it was really lonely not having friends, so naturally my sister was not just that but my best friend.  She was my life line many times, more than I care to count.  Sure I had an older sister but she was old enough to not have any interest is hanging out with a pesky little sister.  Even as I type, I want to call my mom and tell her “How dare you! How dare you even think of not allowing her precious life to come into this world, not just for my sake but for all the people she has touched.”  Just think, there may be 40+ million others that were needed like my sister was, but never had the chance.

That’s anywhere from 43 – 47 million (depending on the source, some add for the unreported abortions that occur) people not walking the earth, and that’s just in America.

What is abortion?  A selfish act born out a desire not to pay the piper.  Look, everybody doesn’t go out thinking that should they become pregnant, they’ll just get an abortion.  Many do the right thing and either have and raise or have and give up the child.  On the other hand, there are a lot of women/girls who don’t.  I once made the short-lived acquaintance of a pair of sisters and a tag-a-long who’s sole means of birth control was abortion, and between the three of them eleven babies are not here to bring joy to anyone’s life.  That should be punishable by law.  Who knows how many more have been aborted since I cut ties nine years ago?

Don’t wanna risk getting pregnant?  Don’t have sex.  Those are the choices and only choices we should have.  I know the arguements the femi-nazis have; “It’ll drive women to have dangerous back alley abortions that may cost them their lives!”  I say good, not that I want women to be harmed but maybe they’ll think twice before having sex so they can make sure they are prepared to pay to consequences.

Or how about this one, “it needs to be available in cases where the life of the mother is in danger.”  My husband worked with a couple that decided despite the woman’s rare health condition they would try to have a child.  She was five months along and developed a life threatening infection and the doctors encourage her to abort.  She instead continued the pregnancy and almost paid with her life, that’s how badly she wanted this baby.  She fought with her very life to bring that child into this world.  Majority of women who have issues in which pregnancy may threaten their lives desire to have children, not get rid of them.  Every Dr, and I mean every last one, testified in the supreme court case against partial birth abortion stated that the life/health of the mother was NEVER an issue.  This was the sole reason this hideous act was to be allowed in the first place, if the health of the mother was at stake.  Many other Dr’s testified that the health of the mother was so rare an issue and would come up much earlier in the pregnancy that the “late-term” or partial birth abortions were never necessary.

For those on the population control side, well that argument is just disgusting.  Who are these people to determine who lives and who doesn’t.  Somehow by the grace of God those folks made it so what makes them better than the ones who didn’t?  Nothing, not there superior genetics, it was mere chance.

Abortion isn’t about liberation, it’s about irresponsibility, it’s about a victim mentality that women aren’t allowed to choose what they do with their own body.  They won’t be able to sleep with every Tom, Dick, and Harry, they will actual have to curb their behavior – it will send women’s right back to the stone ages.   Boo-hoo, my heart bleeds.  At least “cave women” knew the value of their children.

Based on the biological definition of life, we are taking basic biology 101 here, the text book definition; abortion is taking a life.
